What is LISMA?

The Long Island School Media Association is a professional organization of school library media specialists dedicated to the advancement of education. 

The Association membership includes school library media specialists, librarians, teachers, administrators, college students, technicians, and business associates.

Standards for the 21st-Century Learner" offer vision for teaching and learning to both guide and beckon our profession as education leaders. They will both shape the library program and serve as a tool for library media specialists to use to shape the learning of students in the school.

    LISMA offers a scholarship in the amount of $500 to a Nassau County resident who is pursuing a degree leading to New York State certification as a School Media Specialist
