Book Recommendations for New York Teacher sought
Call for Book Recommendations
Attention all NYLA/SLMS Members:
New York Teacher is NYSUT's statewide, official membership newspaper, published every two weeks during the school year and mailed to the homes of all NYSUT members.
NYSUT has asked for book recommendations** from NYLA/SLMS members that would be included in each edition of New York Teacher.
Here are some questions about the book that the New York Teacher editor would like you to address in your book recommendation:
Title and author of book and specific grade that you use the book with in your library
Why did you choose it?
How can teachers use this title to teach across the curriculum (or what subject/subjects does it touch on to help teachers in the classroom and/or address the Standards)
Mention tie-ins to author websites or teachingbooks.net (optional)
What do you like best about the writing and/or art?
JPEG of the book jacket cover art
Please choose one title correlated to one grade level per book recommendation. If you choose to write more than one recommendation, please send each book recommendation with the completed form and JPEG separately. Each question should be answered in one sentence. Remember that this isn't a book review!
If you are interested in completing a book recommendation, please send as email attachments this completed form, your book recommendation in Word and JPEG of the book jacket to:
